Day In The Life:

Welcome to Charles River Rowing! Join us for an unforgettable experience at our Summer 2024 programs where you will have the opportunity to participate in on-water rowing sessions across a range of boat classes. Our expert coaches will focus on enhancing your individual stroke technique using the Peach system, video review, and on-water feedback. In addition to rowing, our camps include strength sessions with a Harvard S&C coach and specialized coxswain coaching for comprehensive skill development. We are excited to welcome you to Newell Boathouse for a summer filled with improvement!

  • Learn the nuance of moving a boat on the Charles - how to hold the handle, sequence the recovery, and connect to the water will be a few of many topics covered by the coaching staff.

  • Not familiar with the Peach system? Athletes will learn through a biomechanics talk and print out of their individual stroke profile at camp; including the force curve, slip/wash numbers, and drive to recovery speed.

  • Work with Harvard strength and conditioning coaches to learn correct movement patterns, planes of movement, and specific rowing conditioning that will improve your strength!

  • Enjoy presentations and hands-on learning from the coaching staff - this will be a great way to get more comfortable in the seat!
